Atul Mohan Bindal is a Venture Partner at Unitus Ventures since 2016. Previously, he served as a Venture Advisor and Fund Advisor at the firm. He works with the investment team on investment decisions and with portfolio companies as they seek to establish a strong foundation and realize their growth potential.
Prior to this, Atul served as Managing Director, Asia of Khosla Ventures Advisory Services and was responsible for providing venture-assistance, operational expertise and leadership inputs for the region. Previously, he was with Bharti Airtel for over eight years as a key member of the top-team that scripted and delivered the Airtel success story. Atul served as the President Mobile Services for India and South Asia at Bharti Airtel Limited since March 2009, where he ran the $8 billion, 160 million customers business. In his career, Atul worked in various leadership roles in marketing, sales and general management with companies such as American Express, Unilever and Shell, playing an instrumental role in creating memorable brands and shaping impactful businesses.
He received an MBA from IIM, Kolkata in 1984 and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University. He is an AMP graduate from Harvard Business School.
Atree manages Public relations and communication activities at Unitus Ventures.
Prior to joining Unitus, she has managed PR, communications, branding, and marketing communication for businesses of various scale and in various sectors, including the Government of Karnataka. She has worked closely with minds from leadership, management, marketing, operations, business, and other departments to provide strategic intelligence for desired communication outcomes.
She has completed her degree in Journalism & Mass communication and PGDC in Branding & Marketing communication from MICA.
Atree is a trained Manipuri dancer, loves traveling and trying hands-on different cuisines, learning about their culture and history.
Balasree (Bala) is an Investment Analyst at Unitus Ventures where she handles deal sourcing, deal evaluation, sector research and impact measurement across different sectors. She also assists the investment team in due diligence and portfolio management
Before joining Unitus, she worked at Tracxn as a Content Manager. Bala has a master’s degree in engineering from North Carolina State University.
Bala hopes to become a fulltime travelling improv theatre performer in her retirement.
Bharti Gupta Ramola
Bharti Gupta Ramola is an advisor with Unitus Ventures. She is on the investment committee and guides the investment team on investment decisions and post-investment strategic direction for portfolio companies.
In her previous role at PwC, she led the firm’s Sustainability practice and was a member of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Council. With 30 years of rich experience, Bharti has been an active advisor on development of policies, institutional capacity and frameworks for private participation in key infrastructure industries and related financing markets.
During her career, she served on the boards of Basix , Pradan and Srijan, engaged in livelihood promotion and micro finance initiatives.
Brent is the Sourcing and Dealflow Manager at Unitus Ventures and focuses on identifying outstanding entrepreneurs for investment.
Brent brings to Unitus a broad base of experience across finance, investing, and social enterprise. Prior to joining Unitus, Brent advised US companies on acquisitions and strategic investments, and was part of the healthcare investment banking team at Nexus Health Capital. He also served as Vice President at Light Beam Capital, where he helped lead the analysis of private equity investment opportunities across a range of sectors. Brent has also worked with leading organizations addressing the needs of low income communities in the US and globally. He has served as consultant to microfinance institutions in Latin America through Kiva, researched business models for the BoP (Bottom of Pyramid) in South Asia with the Yunus Centre and helped build grassroots advocacy organizations in the US with SEIU and the Citizens Campaign.
Brent holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.

Dave Richards is Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Capria and Unitus Ventures.
Dave is an experienced entrepreneur, operating executive, and global venture investor in early-stage startups and venture capital/private equity funds with a speciality in emerging markets. In 2012, he co-founded Unitus Ventures, now the leading venture seed fund supporting startups innovating for the masses in India. Unitus Ventures is an affiliate of Unitus Group, a premier financial services group operating in India and other emerging markets since 2000.
Since 2005, Mr. Richards has been involved with the Unitus Group, helping to lead efforts to select and invest in entrepreneurs in many developing countries, and as an early venture capital investor in microfinance and other businesses serving low-income populations. He led the Unitus Labs incubator for 2 years including the successful incubation and spinout of two venture firms: Patamar Capital and Capria Ventures. He also led Unitus Investment Management, the General Partner of Unitus Equity Fund, a pioneering microfinance venture fund, was a board member of Unitus Capital, a leading Bangalore-based investment bank, and was on the investment committee for Patamar Capital.

K. L. Mukesh
K. L. Mukesh is a Venture Partner with Unitus Ventures and a senior business leader with extensive experience in operations management across global geographies and setting up and scaling of television and healthcare businesses.
Mukesh is a mentor for startups and non-profits, former entrepreneur, manager of large global satellite television (DTH) operations. He managed operations and technology for DIRECTV Latin America, DIRECTV Japan. The operations include customer operations, field operations, loyalty and retention marketing, IT. He also worked on the bankruptcy turnaround of DIRECTV Latin America, merger of DIRECTV Japan with SkyPerfecTV. Subsequently, he was co-founder of Akeso Healthcare – an outpatient facility with a diagnostic lab, treatment room for minor procedures, ultrasound – The business had 49 doctors, 180,000 registered patients. The business got acquired by the Apollo Hospitals group. He was the CEO of Picolabs Division of Biosense. He is currently an advisor for Karmahealthcare (primary healthcare), Arera Technologies (Emergency Medical Response), Gyanpro (science education), Bempu (neonatal care).
Mukesh’s interests lie in improving access and reducing cost of primary healthcare with the help of technology innovations. Mukesh has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a Masters in Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute.
Milind Shah is a Healthcare Venture Partner with Unitus Ventures, working to find and support the firm’s investments in innovative startups in the healthcare space.
Milind was previously a senior executive with experience in diverse industries such as healthcare (Medtronic), specialty chemicals & adhesives (Henkel), telecommunications (3M) and petrochemicals (Shell). This includes 18 years of country/regional leadership roles, in the Indian Sub-Continent and Thailand, with strong competencies in growth strategy, market development, business model innovation and building organizations with strong culture & talent pipeline. His consulting firm, StratLead Advisors LLP, advises clients in developing & executing growth strategies and business models. The firm also provides executive coaching for development & evolution of business leaders.
Milind’s last corporate assignment was with Medtronic plc, a global leader in the medical technology industry, where he was the Managing Director (MD) and Vice President (VP), Indian Sub-Continent during the period 2004-16. Reporting directly to the CEO, Milind was also a member of Medtronic’s Global Executive Committee during the period 2012-15.
Having led the Indian Sub Continent’s business for Medtronic for more than a decade, Milind brings a deep understanding of the healthcare eco-system, a strong network of relationships amongst upper echelons of medical technology companies & hospital chains as well as hands on experience in developing & executing strategic plans, business model innovations and M&A. An acknowledged industry leader, Milind has chaired healthcare industry associations and led advocacy discussions with the government. As the Managing Director of Henkel Loctite India for 7 years, Milind has also been adequately exposed to different segments of the industrial economy.

Ravi Venkatesan is a Venture Partner at Unitus Ventures.
He is also the Chairman of the Board at Bank of Baroda and the founder of Social Venture Partners India, a network of philanthropists across India committed to doubling the incomes of a million people. Ravi serves on the board of Rockefeller Foundation and Infosys Ltd. He is the author of an acclaimed book “Conquering the Chaos: Win in India, Win Everywhere” published by Harvard Business Review.

Radha is a Partner at Unitus Ventures. She leads new investments and portfolio management for the firm.
Radha brings experience building and commercializing technology products for global markets and evaluating early-stage startup investments in India. She helped make technology investments at Mumbai Angels, drove Product Marketing at GupShup, a cloud messaging startup and led product and engineering efforts at Texas Instruments and Motorola.
Radha has a Masters in Computer Science from NITK and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.

Rajiv is the Design and Operations Lead at Unitus Ventures. He leads the design, website and branding for the firm.
Rajiv puts in play his 6+ years of production and design experience to add value to the company and its investments. Prior to joining Unitus, Rajiv worked with prestigious firms like KGD Architecture, Aperian Global and Infosys Technologies in various roles helping them build their branding and streamlining the design processes.
Rajiv holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Shiv is a Senior Associate at Unitus Ventures. He focuses on deal screening, evaluation and portfolio management, with a particular focus on the FinTech or Financial Inclusion sector.
Shiv brings private equity investing experience to Unitus. Prior to Unitus, he worked with Lok Capital and has evaluated and invested in companies across FinTech, Financial Services, Healthcare and Agri. Previous to that he was with a boutique IB Sprout Capital and Deutsche Bank.
Shiv has an MBA in Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and received his Bachelor’s of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

Mr. Srikanth Iyer joined the Unitus Ventures upon formation in 2013 and leads the firm’s efforts to invest in the best education startups that have potential to serve low-income populations at scale. He is also Co-Founder and CEO of HomeLane, a home improvement services company.
As a seasoned information technology entrepreneur with over 23 years of experience, Mr. Srikanth brings experience in sales, operations and strategic depth to the table. Previously, he was CEO of Pearson India, responsible for growing its revenue 30-fold in four years and making Pearson a leading player in Indian K-12 education. Mr. Iyer brings over 20 years of experience in IT entrepreneurship, including as Co-Founder of Edurite Technologies (eventually acquired by Pearson). He holds a post-graduate diploma in software engineering from Harvard University (DCE) and a BE degree in Computer Science from R.V College of Engineering.
Srikanth has been a state level Table Tennis player for 4 years and is an avid sports fan who dabbles in squash, tennis and cricket.
Srikrishna Ramamoorthy is Partner at Unitus Ventures.
Srikrishna is an experienced entrepreneur and early-stage venture capital and private equity capital investor in India. He heads the India operations for Unitus Ventures, having joined the fund as Partner to setup the India office in 2012.
Srikrishna received his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from R. V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru University.
Srikrishna’s goal is to retire to living in a campervan.
Sunitha is a Vice President at Unitus Ventures, performing investment due diligence and portfolio management with a focus on education, mobile and consumer sectors. Since joining in November 2013, Sunitha has led the evaluation of 500+ companies, completed 10 new and follow-on investment transactions and manages a portfolio of 12 investees.
She previously worked with Yes Bank, analyzing and working closely with mid-market clients and tracking their performance. Sunitha received her Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University and a Masters degree in Finance from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. She has also cleared all 3 Levels of the program offered by the CFA Institute (USA).

Shreyas is Director of Marketing and leads Unitus Ventures’s branding and marketing activities.
Prior to Unitus, Shreyas led marketing for Jeeves Consumer Services and led the business’ acquisition by FlipKart. He comes with a global experience across USA and India with world’s leading FMCG and liquor brands.
Shreyas is an engineer with a post-graduate degree in marketing and communications from Iowa State University.

Surya Mantha is a Senior Partner at Unitus Ventures.
Surya has over two decades of experience spanning, business operations, investing and management consulting. He has played leadership roles in startups as well as investment firms. At Unitus, Surya is responsible for all investment operations in India across Unitus’ focus sectors including fintech, med-tech, ed-tech, and employability, through the entire lifecycle of the portfolio.
Previously, Surya played leadership roles in several high-growth technology and media businesses including at Web18, Saregama (HMV), Sify and RealNetworks. He also spent several years in investment management roles, including impact investment at Omidyar Network and growth capital investing at Peepul Capital. As a member of the founding team of Omidyar Network India Advisors (ONIA), he led investments in the ecommerce, digital media, education and government transparency sectors. Surya started his career at Xerox Research in Rochester, New York.
Surya received a BS from IIT Kanpur, a PhD from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City and an MBA from the University of Rochester, NY.
Uma Sekar is the Impact and ESG Manager at Unitus Ventures. She manages impact and ESG compliance and reporting for the firm. She works with portfolio companies to define impact metrics and set targets that align with their strategies to scale the business.
Prior to this, Uma has designed and implemented an actionable impact assessment framework using collaborative approaches adapting logical frameworks for various organizations including Grameen Foundation, Initiative for Global Development and Dream a Dream. At Grameen Foundation, she defined organization wide, global impact metrics dashboard cross-cutting solutions applied to African, Latin American and Asian countries. Uma has also designed and conducted primary field research to understand from a gender lens the behaviors affecting choices between starting an SME and wage employment with the Institute for Financial Research and Management.
Uma holds a Master of Science in Financial Economics from Madras School of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in Accounting and Finance.
Uma aspires to visit at least 100 national parks around the world.
Vikas heads the Finance function for Unitus Ventures.
Vikas brings his expertise in cultivating sustainable business practices, developing policy frameworks and maintaining strong financial control. He has engineered the accounting processes, established policies and procedures and implemented systems.
Previously, he worked for Amba Research, a financial services provider and has also worked with other leading companies like Max New York Life Insurance and WNS Global Services.
Vikas is a Chartered Accountant and has a bachelors’ degree from Delhi University.
Vikas loves travelling and aspires to visit all countries at least once in his lifetime.
Varsha Ravi joined Unitus as a Graphic Designer.
Prior to Unitus, Varsha worked at IIT Madras as a Graphic Designer and played a vital role in contributing to their increased social media presence. She has also freelanced as a illustrator and as a product stylist. Varsha brings fresh ideas, curious outlooks and her unique aesthetic style to everything she creates.
Varsha has completed her Master’s in Communication from M.O.P Vaishnav College and studied Bachelors in Visual Communication from Shasun Jain College.
Will Poole is Cofounder and Managing Partner at Capria and Unitus Ventures.
In 2012, Will co-founded Unitus Ventures, now India’s leading venture seed fund supporting startups innovating for the masses. In 2015, Will co-founded Capria, a global investment firm advancing the next generation of local impact fund managers in emerging markets, specializing in the “missing middle” finance opportunity. Capria and Unitus Ventures are affiliates of Unitus Group, a premier financial services group operating in SE Asia and Latin America since 2000.
