Unitus Ventures Named India’s Most Active Seed-Stage Impact Investor in 2013

2013Unitus Capital, India’s leading impact-focused investment bank, recently release their “2013 India Impact Equity Investment Report” in which they analyzed the investing activity across all impact sectors in India in 2013. Based on data from Venture Intelligence as well as proprietary research, they found that Unitus Ventures was the most active seed-stage impact investor, completing 8 seed stage transactions in 2013.

The other most active investors included Aavishkaar with 8 early-stage impact investments, and International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, with 6 reported transactions in the growth stage.

Unitus Capital’s report also noted that impact equity investing continued to be an important component of the overall India private equity landscape, comprising 23% of the private equity transactions in India. Impact investments were spread over 80 deals and totaled a quantum of US$ 390 mn (Rs. 2429 crores).
